class description

Chair Yoga
This class is a gentle form of yoga. You will practice yoga sitting in a chair or standing using the chair for support. Complicated maneuvers and complex movements are NOT present in this class. The chair is used due to the difficulty in getting down and up off the floor. You will learn many yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation and ways of relaxation with the aid of a chair.

Beginner
Discover your body in this class! You will be amazed how your body works and what it can do! If you're a beginner or a more advanced student looking to get back to basics, give this class a try. Take advantage of a more intimate environment and focus on proper alignment and breathing techniques. All levels are welcome!

Flow
Experience your body in this class! This class features a flowing vinyasa sequence partnered with breath awareness, meditation, hands-on alignment, and relaxation. You will expand your strength, stamina and flexibility. Yoga poses are never ending. You will enrich your current foundation and grow in your postures, mind and heart. This is the perfect transition from Beginner!

Flow 2
Continue to challenge yourself in this class! You will expand your strength, stamina and flexibility. Yoga poses are never ending. Move on and go for the bind, balance, full wheel and inversion. You will enrich your current foundation and grow in your postures, mind and heart. This is the perfect transition from Flow!

Anusara Inspired
Anusara means “flowing with Grace,” “going with the flow,” “following your heart.” This class focuses on the alignment of the postures and the opening of the heart. It is designed to allow your body to slow down and focus on technique. Open your body and mind in this powerful class.

Ashtanga Inspired
This class is a vinyasa style practice that follows a set series of poses. The asanas are arranged in the traditional sequence, as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. It is designed to be physically challenging. It will strengthen and tone, increase endurance and flexibility and enhance your balance. If you are looking for an athletic yoga class, this is the one for you!

Slow Flow
This is a well-balanced yet strong and uplifting class. Discover your strength as you stretch deeper and hold poses a little longer. Enjoy moving in your body with grace and ease. This class is the perfect compliment to what you do; walk, run, bike, hike, swim, ski...the  list goes on. Find harmony in your body and in your life.

Kripalu
Kripalu means being compassionate, to yourself and others. Stretch fully, deepen your strength, and enhance your endurance through longer held postures coupled with breath awareness. Kripalu yoga individualizes the yoga experience; postures and adjustments are tailored to your personal needs and goals. You will leave feeling balanced, rejuvenated, exhilarated and more self aware. Sustain that feeling all week long with simple take home tips. Move at a slower pace. All levels welcome!

Body Prayer
Let yoga be more than a physical practice. Explore the effects of yoga on the mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Our bodies speak volumes. Flow with grace and strength as you offer up your intentions and vibrations into the universe. Prayer is the act of communicating with something bigger than ourselves. What ever that something is for you, connect through movement and prayer. Pray for peace. Pray for happiness. Pray for serenity. Pray for your loved ones and those in need. Come with an open mind and an open heart.  This is a regular Flow class.

Family Yoga
These classes bring together adults and the young children in their lives in a fun, light-hearted class. Adults and children partner up and support each other. A typical class would include asana practice, an imaginative game, and maybe even a story. The intention of the class is to have fun, spend time together and increase joy through building your family relationship.

Kids and Teens
These classes explore postures as well as issues relevant to elementary, middle school, junior high and high school students. Since stress can play a considerable role in the lives of children, these classes emphasize the importance of being happy with the person you are today! Spirited class discussions on issues critical to the age group like the cruelty of gossip, bullying and how to have compassion for others are part of what makes these classes so valuable.

Restorative Yoga
This class is designed to help you learn to relax and rest deeply and completely! During deep relaxation, all the organ systems of the body are benefited, and a few of the measurable results of relaxation are the reduction of blood pressure and the improvement of immune function, as well as improvement in digestion, fertility, elimination and the reduction of muscle tension and generalized fatigue. Come experience the art of relaxation. You will feel rejuvenated and renewed during and after each and every class!

Pre-Natal
Through the use of props and a wide spectrum of asanas adapted for the ever-changing pregnant body, Alluem Yoga’s pre-natal yoga class enables the pregnant yogini to safely practice sun salutations, standing poses, balances and forward bends. Emphasizing breathing along with stretching and strengthening the body, these classes are empowering for pregnant women. This class is designed to help you with concentration and endurance in labor and delivery. Make friends and develop your own yoga community with your fellow expecting mothers. Then continue your yoga practice together after giving birth.

Baby and Me
A postpartum class for mothers with babies from 6 weeks to 12 months old. A wonderful transition from the pre-natal class, this class enables mothers to continue their yoga practice and foster an ongoing maternal sense of community. A typical class emphasizes postures designed to tone the abdominal muscles and realign the inner body. Special attention will be given to post-pregnancy recovery due to epidurals or Caesarean sections. Most importantly, Baby and Me classes are a great way for mothers to connect physically, emotionally, and spiritually with their babies.

Rock Yoga
Like standing in the front row of AC/DC and feeling at the end of class like you felt after double sessions back in high school! Well, not quite but feel the vibration of the tunes move through your body as you nourish the soul in this vinyasa flow class. Rock out to the music and release all tension and stress from the daily grind. Start the weekend "de-stressed" and mellow.

Balanced Body Barre
Utilize techniques from yoga, Pilates and ballet to improve endurance and flexibility while embracing your inner ballerina. This class emphasizes safety and body awareness while keeping the intensity of a barre workout.
